Account Information
- Name and email address (provided during registration).
- Authentication data (password hash, OAuth tokens from Google or ORCID).
- ORCID iD (if you choose to sign in via ORCID).
Uploaded Content
- Scientific articles and documents (PDF files) you upload for processing.
- Knowledge graphs and extracted entities generated from your documents.
- Chat messages and interactions with the AI assistant.
Technical Data
- IP address and browser information for security and rate limiting.
- Usage logs (pages visited, features used) for service improvement.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Platform — processing your documents, generating knowledge graphs, and enabling AI-assisted research.
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
- To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, login codes).
- To prevent abuse and enforce rate limits.
- To improve the Platform's functionality and user experience.
4. AI Processing
Your uploaded documents are processed by AI models (including third-party AI providers) to extract entities, generate knowledge graphs, and provide chat-based research assistance. Document content is sent to AI providers solely for the purpose of generating results for your account. We do not use your documents to train AI models.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secured servers with encrypted connections (TLS).
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (Argon2).
- Uploaded files are stored in private object storage accessible only through your authenticated account.
- Email verification tokens and OTP codes are stored as SHA-256 hashes and expire automatically.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following cases:
- AI providers — document content is sent to AI services for processing (entity extraction, graph generation, chat responses).
- OAuth providers — we exchange authentication tokens with Google and ORCID if you use those sign-in methods.
- Legal requirements — if required by applicable law or legal process.
7. Data Retention
Your account data and uploaded documents are retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data, uploaded documents, and generated knowledge graphs will be deleted. Some data may be retained in encrypted backups for a limited period.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Export your knowledge graphs and document metadata.

9. Cookies
We use httpOnly cookies for authentication (JWT session tokens). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
